19 year old Lawrence Williams, Jr. from New Orleans, Louisiana was serving as a crew member of  UH-1D 65-07926 when he and   1st LT William Beasley, were killed in action supporting Special Forces Team C-3 at Bien Hoa, South Vietnam when their helicopter crashed on takeoff and landed in an  abandoned French mine field.  SP4 Lawrence Williams, Jr. was the Door Gunner.
