Headquarters Platoon:
The Headquarters Platoon was one of the original
platoons formed at Ft Benning, Georgia and consisted of a Platoon HQ,
Administrative Section, Unit Supply Section, Mess Section and Medical
Section. The mess and medical personnel were attached to 5th SFG
(ABN) due to their providing mess facilities and medical clinics at the
Special Forces Operating Base (SFOB) at Nha Trang and Forward Operating
Bases with Project Delta.
Service Platoon:
The Service Platoon was also one of the original sections formed at Ft
Benning, Georgia. Included in this platoon was the Platoon HQ;
three maintenance sections: Aircraft Maintenance, Weapons Maintenance
and Wheel Vehicle Maintenance; Commo Section and Airfield Services
Section.
