Brian ~
We are fortunate to have a Company Commander and 1SG leading our newest
Intruders. You both appear to have done an outstanding job preparing
and leading the unit into a war zone. You reflect the continued
excellence of both U.S. Army Aviation and the Intruders of which we are
all a part.
All the best for continued safe mission and good flying.
Joe

Jack and Joe,
I wanted to let you know that Dave Fitzpatrick, my first flight PL, made
it into Kuwait today. He will probably be in Atlanta in the next
24-48 hours. I let him know that if he is not moved immediately to
lockdown and can write you an email to do so. He will have a
better timeline.
The only new update is that we received two Soldiers to the fight,
welcoming one to the Intruder Family. An experienced CW2 Henwood
has just joined us and will be a valuable asset the team, and one of our
original crewchiefs has finally made it over.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Mid May I will
be changing out of command and moving up to BDE Ops to give another
captain a combat command. I went to flight school with him, he
seems like a good guy. He was the number one captain in line for a
command in the BDE so I am less apprehensive about handing over the
company. Regardless the guys will be in the more than capable
hands of the 1SG, who will help steer him in the right direction during
the first few months. This past year has been the best year of my
Army Career, and it has been a true honor to train this team, and lead
them into combat under the proud name of the Intruders.
Take care Gentlemen. Thank you again for the continued support and
for keeping in such good contact with our guys. As we all grow in
wisdom it never ceases to amaze me on what a true honor and priviledge
it is to be associated with all of the Intruder. Each of us will
all look back on this as one of the greatest times in our careers, not
because of the missions, but because we are part of something much
bigger than ourselves, our company, or our Battalion, we are part of the
Intruders.
