3rd Flight Platoon
"Wolf Pack"
The 3rd
Flight Platoon was formed from assets of the 2/171st when the 281st
Aviation Company (AML) (-) arrived in Nha Trang. The 2/171st was
formed from assets of the 145th and 6th Airlift Platoons. The
"Wolf Pack" was the armed platoon and was one of the most effective and
lethal armed helicopter platoons in RVN.
The Wolf Pack website, created and maintained by 281st Association Member
and former Wolf Pack Platoon Leader, Fred Mentzer, now deceased, has been incorporated into the 281st Association web site.
