YEAR ! THIS ONE WAS IN LAS VEGAS COUPLED WITH THE SPECIAL OPERATIONS
ASSOCIATION REUNION

Chester
Howard on the right from Delta Recon brought some dignity to our meeting.
Here with Jeff Murray, Jack Mayhew, Norn Kaufman and ?? final preparations
were made for the joint Delta/281st memorial service. This service was
both moving and rewarding for all attendees.

Next event
on the agenda was our gathering at the local VFW hall. The conversations
seemed endless. We also had a continuous slide show running with pictures
from 30 years ago plus previous reunions.

Dan, Bill,
Paul, and Paul. Old friends and cherished moments. We lost Paul Swol (on
the right) after this reunion but he made memories for us all this day.
|
|
In addition to the never ending war stories, We now had a forum to put faces with names. To everyone's surprise, the bar was "open" courtesy of Bob Moberg. There's no doubt a serious dent was put in his bank account this day.. THANKS MO !!!!! |

During our get together the first "Intruder of the Year" award was presented to Gary Stagman for his services as membership chairman and bringing our membership roll to over 175 members !

During our
business meeting Dean Roesner told the story of how he obtained the 281st
guidon for the association. This is a story worth hearing and I'm sure
if we get enough new members present he can be coerced into repeating
it.

The SOA
banquet Saturday night gave us all another chance to mingle and have dinner
with friends.

Compare
the size of this group with the one at the 1986 reunion ! Since this picture
was taken Gary has found us another nearly 40 members !
